Outlook Client search - date format

Hello.
I have an M365 Outlook Client installation; language is EN (matching Windows language)
Dates are displayed in standard european format [dd/mm/yyyy] everywhere, including in the Outlook attribute columns (sent, received, follow up, etc); the only "area" not affected by my global settings seems to be the the search bar = query language.
In this context only US-format date are recognized, [i.e. mm/dd/yyyy]; this is really annoying, twice considering that such format is totally irrational for non-US-native
It looks like Outlook queries are not affected by regional settings. In OWA no problem at all, queries respect settings also for date format.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Thanks for quick reply; something isn't clear to me... I try and explain better:

All the dates are displayed correcly, according to my needs, everywhere in the system, including OL-Client, with a single exception:
ONLY in the "OL query serch" strings, requires US-syle date; example: [from:******@abc.com received:01/29/2022]

You stated this is "fixed by design", and could be accdeptable, but if i change Outlook/M365 language to Italian, it works with my date format [da:******@abc.com ricevuto:29/01/2022]

This means that the format is somohow setting-dependent, even if not explicit.

In the past and other software I solved similar issues choosing a "different English" (EN-Europe, EN-Australia, etc), with inheritance of relevant regional settings. But for M365 only one "English" exist (it's the only exaple in the whole system as far as I know) - many ENGs for proofing, but a single one for client display... and it's US!

OWA queries respect settings format = date visualization and date in query have the same format, whichever it is.

The query date format in client is the only setting that seems not to respect global settings (neither Windows nor M365 ones). Should this be reported as a bug?

    Thanks

I've reported this a couple of times already to the Outlook Team and they are aware of the issue/limitation.

I've just asked for an update about this and will report back if I can share anything here.
