Outlook Alert screen location when using Multiple Screens?

Hello!

I am using Microsoft outlook on Mac, latest versions of both software and operating system. Since Covid I work full time at home and I work on a very large 34 inch monitor. In my set up I never use the Mac building monitor for any serious work, my ergonomic set up is me using the external screen for everything, including Outlook.

My problem is that the outlook alert/meeting reminder pop-up window only ever pops up on the internal display, which is not in my line of sight, which means that I sometimes miss meetings. Is there anyway to have it so that the Alert pops up on the actual screen where Outlook is being used?

Thanks,

Fin.

I am now having the same issue as Fin. My employer just updated my computer to a newer version of Outlook for Mac and now the calendar alert window only appears on the screen that I do not look at very often (at the very bottom of my line of sight) instead of my larger, main monitor above the other one. Before the update, in an older version of Outlook for Mac, I could move the calendar alert to my bigger monitor and it would stick to that location (i.e., future alerts would appear on that monitor until I restarted Outlook); however, with the new version of Outlook for Mac, the moved alerts revert back to the original position/monitor, which is not where I want them. I think this is a design flaw from one version of Outlook for Mac to the newer one. I also was previously able to resize the calendar alerts on the older version so that they stretched across half of my very large monitor, ensuring they grabbed my attention and were not missed; this feature also appears to have gone away with the newer version of Outlook for Mac I just upgraded to. This is really messing up my workflow and I would strongly encourage Microsoft to fix it. The version of Outlook I just upgraded to is Version 16.65 (22091101).

    Dear Finbarr,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand that you want to change the pop out reminder location when using multiple screens.

From your description, you are using multiple monitors and not the shared screen feature.

1- I have first tested this feature on outlook for windows to see if it's available, and from what I have seen, the reminder always pops out on the main monitor. While checking the reminder settings, there is no options to change the default display window.

2- Testing on outlook for Mac, I have noticed that for the Notifications and Sounds settings, there is no options to change the default display window which is the main monitor.

From what I have seen, you will need to use outlook in the main monitor to have the reminder appear where outlook is being used.

Giving this situation I think It as to do with the laptop settings for the display notifications, seeing that we don't support Mac settings, please double check it with the Apple support if they have any insight on the matter.

A workaround I can suggest you to not miss the reminder notification is to set a sound for the notification

    1. On the Outlook menu, click Preferences.
    2. Under Personal Settings, click Notifications & Sounds.

Moreover, we have a dedicated support for questions around outlook for Mac, I will suggest to double check my findings with them. Go to Help > Contact Support.

Feel free to let me know if you need further information from my side.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

    Sincerely.
