Recently I got a pop up that I needed to enter my password on my MSN(hotmail) email app on my iphone. When I enter it I get "Something went wrong...Your Parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft" I am the parent... When I go to my profile my birthdate has been change to 2011 and it is greyed out and I can not change it. I'm not sure how or who changed it. I am able to log into my hotmail email on my PC with no issues. It's just a problem on my iphone. I have deleted the app and signed back in and it worked for 2 days and now it's back to asking me to add password and I get the same error above. Any help with be appreciated.

    Hi scibsjoy

Thank you for choosing our Microsoft Community.

We will try our best to help you.

From the Outlook for mobile category you posted, we know your problem is "An error occurred while configuring your MSN email app on iPhone that your parent has blocked access to games and apps not published by Microsoft". If I understand is wrong, please feel free to correct me. I know sometimes troubleshooting can take a while and the fact that the problem hasn't been resolved can be frustrating.

We very much empathize with your question. Due to the limited information and the many reasons for the problem, we may need more detailed information from you.

    • Is the email app you're referring to now Outlook for iOS or the email app that comes with the iPhone.
    • What type of protocol is currently configured in the mail application, such as POP3/IMAP/Exchange.
    • Regarding you mentioned that the current account is related to Family Safety. If it is convenient for you, try to log out of the family group, and then add your email account through Outlook to see if you still get the error message. For more information on how to log out of the family group The steps are here .

Please feel free to let me know if you got any further updates, thanks.
