Outlook close when archiving email

Outlook is archiving email and the computer is left power on for finishing the process.

However, when unlock the computer, it is found that outlook is closed.

Try open outlook, and below message prompted.

something is wrong with one of your data files and outlook needs to close outlook might be able to fix your file. click OK to run the inbox repair tool.

Then outlook inbox repair tool is launched. It is cancelled as it is known that this process need quite a long time.

the outlook is now running in online mode.

What we would like to confirm is

Is it a must to repair the OST?

Lets say if try to open outlook again in cache mode and success, is it tell that the ost is working fine?

And what we more concern is, how to check what is the status of the archive file.

Since there is a pst file created, how can I know the status of the archive action?

Simply say, how can I know if there is any email lost?

And what will be the next step to this issue?

    Dear Inema,

    Thank you for your help.

For the archive part, I will do archive again and hope there is no data lost.

For the Outlook crash, to avoid another crash, we choose to reset windows and setup Outlook again.

    It is working fine now.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,

    Ewing
