Is there a way to disable the very large context menu that pops up if the mouse pointer touches the "NEW MESSAGE" button? This is a useless feature and the only function it performs is to make it impossible to click on my inbox or sent folders

Good day! Thank you for your reply. I have been checking this, however, this behavior is currently by design; you may provide feedback to Microsoft and make suggestions about it How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?.

Is there a way to just disable all hover-activation of menus and require a click? The hover-menu approach is inconsistent and even more annoying in a multiple monitor setup, because the hover function only works if the monitor where the hover menu is has current focus, thus the behavior is going to vary based only on a relatively subtle difference whose only visual indicator is a menu bar that is either grayed out (to indicate lack of focus), or not. Even worse, the hover footprint is larger than the button footprint, so if you're clicking on what appears to be a non-active portion of the screen, i.e. you're not actually clicking the button, as soon as focus switches to that monitor, the hover menu may be activated and interfere with whatever else you were trying to do. Thus, unless you are closely monitoring which screen has focus on a second-to-second basis, the behavior of hover menus will never be intuitive. That's too much baggage for normal everyday use. Hover menus bad. Clicks good.

    outlook for mac 16.63 (22070801)

this just gets in my way practically every time I try to click on inbox/sent because the motion of the mouse pointer in the direction of those folders usually crosses the button and triggers the context menu after a stupidly short interval
