Problem with Hotmail

Have had a Hotmail/Outlook account for years, and finally have a problem. Running Windows 8.1, and as of yesterday when I went to log in through Firefox got this error message

Oddly when I use the Mail Icon from the "START" screen I can access my account.

Hello ! I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I am hopeful that I will be able to help you find a satisfactory solution.

This is a recent bug and it has been noticed by many user, I believe Microsoft are aware of this issue and it will be resolved in due time. All I would advise now is to bare little patience.
