Unable to use alternative method in authenticator app

Question

I updated the security info and added email as an alternative method to verify identity in school account. When I sign in to my account, there is no options like sign-in in another way. Please give a suggestion and solve the issue.

Security info methods are used for both two-factor security verification and for password reset. However, not all methods can be used for both. Email account is for password reset authentication only. You'll need to choose a different method for two-factor verification. You can choose other ways like text messages, phone calls, etc. as alternatives. In some cases, emails may be delayed, but text messages or phone calls are more time-sensitive to verification.
