Most of the times i am trying to empty a folder, the message 'Emptying folder' is shown and its stuck on this.

Doesn't matter if there is only 1 email in the folder or 1000.

The only way i can unstuck it is by doing refresh browser.

browser Chrome - version is not important since it happened on multiple versions

Any suggestions or ways of fixing this ?

    Dear tLiviu,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Based on your description, empty folder doesn't always work while using browser - gets stuck on 'Emptying folder (x of y)' message.

For this issue, I might need to collect some more detailed information so that I can understand the scenario more clearly and investigate it. Kindly let me know:

    1. Are you using Microsoft365 account or personal account (which is ended with outlook.com or hotmail.com)?
    2. As you mentioned that issue happens on multiple versions of Chrome browser, would you please try using another browser, eg, Edge, to check whether the issue persist.
    3. If the issue happens on multiple browsers, would you please check whether other users in your org have the same issue.
    4. There is some possibility that some backend issues cause this stuck, if you are using Microsoft365 business account, would you please use the tenant admin account to Office365 admin center>Support>New Service Request.  The support engineers there have the correct escalation channel, and this is the most efficient way to report such issue. You can refer to this article to check the way how to raise a ticket: Ways to contact support for business products - Admin help. The engineers in related team have higher permission and resources than us to help check the root cause from background directly.

(If you are using Microsoft personal account, please note that since personal account uses different servers and issues are supported by another specific group. If your account is personal one, please let me know, I will move your thread to the correct support group ASAP to get more professional support.)

If there is any update or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,

    Sherry | Microsoft Community Moderator
