Error message "A client operation failed." When modifying an Outlook calendar appointment.

Good day all

I have a problem with changing calendar entries from a shared calendar in outlook, where I have 'reviewer' permissions. Namely, I get the error message "A client operation failed." every time I try to save the change.

Let me explain with this example:

I want to change a calendar entry of e.g. Max Mustermann. Max Mustermann has given me the role of 'reviewer'.

now I want to change e.g. the subject from

to and try to save it.

Now this message appears, this is correct, because I am not authorized to change the entry itself:

However, what I can do is to create a copy of the entry. After confirming with 'Yes' to create a copy, I get the following error:

When I click this away with 'Ok', nothing happens. The window to change the appointment is still open. When I try to save the change again, Outlook crashes and restarts.

Does anyone know what could be the reason for this?

    Hey NoOneCan

Thanks for the advice, however the Recovery-Assistand sadly didn't solve my problem.

Removing and adding the shared calender didn't make a difference. The problem was sent to me as a ticket from an employee of my company and i was able to reproduce the error with a testaccount.

    Kind regards

    Beat

You may try remove and re-add shared calendar in Outlook to check this issue.

Also using the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant tests to figure out what's wrong and offers the best solution for the identified problem. It can currently fix Microsoft 365, or Outlook problems. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-the-microsoft-support-and-recovery-assistant-e90bb691-c2a7-4697-a94f-88836856c72f
