How can I get notified for emails in folder going to other non-inbox folder due to rules?

I have tried other email clients like thunderbird and Default Mail & Calendar to try to resolve this issues, but only a sound notification came in thunderbird.

I need to get notified of important emails going to trading and job folders.

Any workaround that would be very helpful.

Now, whenever an email that meets the conditions of the rule is received, it will be automatically moved to the specified folder. To get notified of emails in the folder, you can go to the "Settings" menu, select the "Notifications" option, and then enable notifications for the folder. This should allow you to get notified of important emails in non-inbox folders on your Android device.

I get the first part, but there is not any option for "Enable notifications for folders" in the app. I have searched all the way through the settings.

Hello Vatsal, I'd be happy to help you.

Personally, since I manage a variety of folders for Outlook, what helped me in order to get notified for emails in non-inbox folders in Outlook is to set up a rule that forwards emails that arrive in a specific folder to your inbox. This way, you will receive a notification for the email in your inbox, and you can still keep the email organized in the other folder.

To set up a forwarding rule in Outlook, follow these steps:

Open Outlook and click on the "Home" tab.

In the "Move" group, click on "Rules" and then select "Manage Rules & Alerts".

In the "Rules and Alerts" dialog box, click on "New Rule".

In the "New Rule" dialog box, select "Apply rule on messages I receive" and then click on "Next".

In the next step, select the conditions that you want the rule to apply to, such as the sender, subject, or keywords in the email. Then, click on "Next".

In the next step, select "forward it to people or public group" and then specify your inbox as the forwarding address.

In the next step, you can choose to apply any exceptions or additional conditions, if needed. Then, click on "Next".

In the final step, give the rule a name and click on "Finish".

Once you have created the rule, it will automatically apply to any new emails that meet the specified conditions and forward them to your inbox. You can also set up a separate rule that triggers a specific notification sound or alert for emails that are forwarded to your inbox. This way, you can easily distinguish between regular emails and those that have been forwarded from other folders.

Understood, it actually depends on the version but in this case I found a workaround that might as well work:

You can set up rules in Outlook for Android to automatically move emails from specific senders or with certain keywords in the subject line to a designated folder. If you want to be notified when an email is moved to one of these folders, you can set up notifications for that folder. Here's how:

Open the Outlook app on your Android device and go to the folder where you want to receive notifications.

Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select "Settings" from the menu.

Select "Notifications" from the list of options.

Turn on the toggle next to "Notify me" to enable notifications for this folder.

You can customize the notification settings, such as the tone and vibrate options, by tapping the "Customize" button.

Now, whenever an email is moved to this folder, you will receive a notification on your device. Keep in mind that you will need to set up notifications for each folder individually where you want to receive notifications.

In the Outlook app for Android, you can set up notifications for emails in specific folders using rules. To do this, follow these steps:

Open the Outlook app on your Android device and go to the "Settings" menu.

In the "Settings" menu, select the "Mail" option and then select the "Swipe and delete actions" option.

In the "Swipe and delete actions" menu, select the "Add swipe action" option.

In the "Add swipe action" menu, select the "Move to folder" option and then select the folder that you want to move the emails to.

After you have selected the folder, you can specify any additional conditions that you want to use to trigger the rule. For example, you might specify that the rule should apply only to emails with specific words in the subject or body.

After you have specified the conditions, select the "Done" option to save the rule.
