I have Outlook for Mac (V 16.73.1) and have my yahoo mail coming into the Outlook inbox; as well as my gmail accounts. I have 3 personal accounts coming to Outlook as one inbox. I keep having Sync Error that happen with respect to my yahoo email. Example error is:

Create Failed-Mailbox exists-"Trash" is one. I get similar message for "Sent"; "Archive" etc. I am not sure why this is occurring. Can anyone educate me on this and if there is anything I need to do.

I am having these issues too using Outlook on Mac with Yahoo mail, but these instructions are not options that are available to me when adding this account to Outlook. Mail is delivered to Outlook and then disappears. I delete Yahoo mail in Outlook and it reappears and I get the same error messages with certain mailboxes, like Create Failed-Mailbox exists-"Trash".

Hi Terrance, I'm Diane and I will be helping you today.

That error is trying to create new folders when they already exist.

When you look t the account in the Tools > accounts, do you see the IMAP server names? If not, the accounts were added as cloud sync accounts. Remove the account from Outlook and when it asks you to remove from this computer or everywhere, choose everywhere.

If you want to add them as IMAP accounts, after entering the address and Outlook finds it, click Not [account] in the upper right then choose IMAP on the next screen = make sure the slider to use Microsoft cloud sync is off (it will be right account the account type buttons). See if that works better.

If you need to sync calendar & contacts you will need to let Outlook add it as a cloud sync account.
