gmail sync with outlook

my Outlook account will not open. I use a gmail account that was synced with outlook. Im getting an error stating imap ......along with gmail something. i have downloaded the gmail sync app but outlook still giving same error message when i open it

    That message says the sync app is not loaded. Is it disabled in File > Options > Addins?

    Hello Danny,

    You are using a google business account? What is the complete error message?

    If you are using the Google sync app with a business account, try making a new profile, adding the account as an IMAP account (not using the sync app) - does it work?

    To create a new profile for Outlook:

    1. Go to File > Account Settings > Change Profile.
    2. Restart Outlook.
    3. Click Options then New and go through the steps to create a new profile.

    Or you can do it from Control Panel - find Mail (Microsoft Outlook) then click Show Profiles > New.
