High User Data usage on Android

I see old posts about this, but never a resolution. And Outlook has by far the largest User Data usage of any app on my phone. In this case it is 3 GB. I assume that is downloaded mail content. But why is there no way to change a setting to say how much to keep on the phone? The only need for it is searching and then I know from using the PC client that it searches online as well. Why does the phone not work like that? How come nobody from Microsoft can answer anybody's questions about this - in the Microsoft Outlook support forum?

Hi Shecky2! This is Raech. I'm an Outlook.com user like you and I'm happy to help.

It sounds like an issue that needs to be addressed not in this forum, but with Outlook mobile support instead. 3 GB is indeed not normal. Do you have a POP3 account currently set up in the app?
