I am getting error messages every time I try and email a gmail account from Outlook

See below
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Your message was not delivered because the destination computer refused

to accept it (the error message is reproduced below).  This type of error

is usually due to a mis-configured account or mail delivery system on the

destination computer; however, it could be caused by your message since

some mail systems refuse messages with invalid header information, or if

they are too large.

Your message was rejected by gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com for the following reason:

5.7.1 [203.38.21.100] Messages missing a valid messageId header are not

     5.7.1 accepted. m12-20020a63f60c000000b004124bf5e881si15391974pgh.306 - gsmtp

The following recipients did not receive this message:

     <**********@gmail.com>

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

While I understand the error it is happening to all gmail accounts so it can not be them.

PS - what is a message header?

Regards
Justin

Sometime in July 2022 this same problem started happening on my android phone using the stock email app. Using the Outlook email app on my phone and on my PC works fine. My email is hosted with GoDaddy and the problem started around the same time as gmail / google implemented new email security measures.

So in my situation it isn't an Outlook problem and appears to be a problem with gmail not liking my Samsung s21 stock email app. So for my work around I just stopped using the stock samsung s21 email app and am now using the outlook app instead.

I could contact gmail, samsung and godaddy support techs to figure out what's going on but I don't have time to do mess with that when I have a working alternative using the Outlook app.

    error is pasted below:

"Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently. Reason: There was an error while attempting to deliver your message with [Subject: "example subject"] to (sample person at gmail.com) ] Messages missing a valid messageId header are not accepted."

I am having the same issue with our business email accounts. We have 7 email accounts through Go Daddy. We send emails only to discover some of them have not sent, and we get the same error messages. It's causing a huge problem for us across all of our laptops and main computer desktop.

Who can we speak with to rectify this situation?

    Hello Justin Borg1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

The mail header is one of the three major components of an email. It is a line of headers before the body and mainly contains the transmission information of the mail, such as sender, recipient, date and subject. If you want more clarity on what it means, you can open an email and follow the steps below:

For your question, we would like to know the following information first:

    1. I would like to know what mailbox you have configured in Outlook? Is it a Gmail mailbox? Or some other type of mailbox?
    2. Have you logged in to the web-side mailbox, and then tried to send an email to the recipient of the Gmail email account? Can it be sent successfully? Will I get this message too?
    3. If you are a Gmail mailbox, have you tried sending emails to yourself? Can it be sent successfully?

Based on the content of the blocking message you posted, it may be that Gmail blocked your email due to your low email account reputation. If you are an Outlook mailbox, then you can click here to appeal to improve your credibility. If you have other mailboxes, then you may need to contact the corresponding server provider.

We have to go through a series of steps to find the real cause of the problem. If you still have problems, please let me know and I will continue to help you with the problem.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

Mavis - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Is it a Gmail mailbox? Or some other type of mailbox?

    • is other, colegioxxxx.org
    1. Have you logged in to the web-side mailbox, and then tried to send an email to the recipient of the Gmail email account?
    • yes, and it work, send all

Can it be sent successfully? Will I get this message too?

    • yes and yes, send and get all

It only fails when using the Microsoft desktop mail application, with the Outlook app it works but it takes time to send them, directly from the mail web page there is no problem, and the mail server does have the DKIM and SPF keys.
