Installing the PRE version does not remove the classic version, both should be available on the Start menu:

Exporting via the Export Mailbox command will create a .PST file which Outlook PRE cannot open due to its current lack of offline file support. You need the classic version of Outlook to work with offline .PST files, hence my comments.

Greetings UmitCelebi,

Hope you are doing well!

Many thanks for the prompt response! According to this article Getting started with the new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support Recently we don't have backup feature in new Outlook for Windows.

Kindly understand that The New Outlook is in a Preview state, and they are still working on the platform/foundation of the application itself. At this stage of the development, luckily, restarting the client is very quick. As an alternative, you can switch back to "Classic" Outlook by turning New Outlook Off. Then refer to Import and export Outlook email, contacts, and calendar - Microsoft Support for back up your email.

We are looking forward to your response! Please feel free to let me know if there is any question. I will keep assisting you based on the information you provide. We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Inema | Microsoft Community Moderator

The new Outlook (Outlook PRE) is not suitable for making backups, it has no offline capabilities yet. Do you have access to the classic Outlook desktop app?

Hi Inema, Thank you for the reply. It looks like I have to use the Outlook app in order to export my mails? I am currently using the browser webmail and I tried to add my account to the Outlook app, but there is no option to add an Exchange account which my school email uses. Or am I missing something? On my mobile I have been using the Gmail app for my school emails, but I don't see an option there to export.
