Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi,
It didn't work
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
My Outlook is using internet explorer instead of Google Chrome and when I sign in it gives this error. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi,
It didn't work
I have Microsoft investigating this error and they would like to know the value in that registry key -
Type cmd on the start menu, open command prompt when it comes and then paste a line in, copy the results and paste in a message then run the second one. Use the first set if windows and outlook are the same bitness, the second set is only if you have 64bit windows and 32bit outlook.
You can copy and paste the results in the forum or send them to me at diane at slipstick.com. Thanks
For 32-bit Windows running 32-bit Outlook or 64-bit Windows running 64-bit Outlook:
reg query "hkcu\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION" /s
reg query "hklm\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION" /s
For 64-bit Windows running 32-bit Outlook:
reg query "hkcu\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION" /s
reg query "hklm\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION" /s
Thanks. The following are suggestions Microsoft support made for my client - I'm waiting to hear from her employer's support desk ifeither suggestion fixed it.
These are the keys to check – the outlook.exe entry should have a value of 10001. Fix (or delete) it then restart Outlook before trying to add the account.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\
I only have a value in the HKCU location – not under the local machine path (and the value is correct).
To delete credentials, start typing credential manager on the start menu and open it – under Windows Credentials look for entries like this: MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2:114948555308406919891_tp_google_imap_OAuth2 and remove them. You may have more than one with “tp_google_imap”. Remove all.

Are you trying to log into a Gmail account? A client has a similar error last week trying to add a Gmail account to outlook. We're still looking for a fix.
