Auto reply cannot be turned off

Greetings! I was out of the office for a few days and had auto reply set, but now that I'm back, Auto Reply is turned off, I'm pretty sure of that! But the notification still shows the person who sent me the email! I must clarify that there are no autoreplies set up in outlook, they are disabled or turned off, and there are no activity rules. Matthew checked with exchange online and 365 Admin Center for me and auto reply is also off...

    Dear guoji145

Good day! Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you!

First of all, we apologize for the trouble and inconvenience caused to your work! Based on your description, I have a general understanding of what you mean, please first kindly try to use your account to log in Outlook Web App (https://outlook.office.com ) and check if Autoreply still displays.

In addition, please kindly close Outlook desktop app and start it again for test, you can also reboot computer and Outlook. If issue persists, please kindly temporarily turn off cached mode (in Outlook -> File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> select account and click “Change” -> untick “Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file”), restart Outlook for test. Meanwhile, please also kindly check your MailTip by below PowerShell:

Get-Mailbox username | ft DisplayName, MailTip

If it’s MailTip, you can then use following PowerShell command to clear it:

    Set-Mailbox username -MailTip $null

If your problem persists, please kindly share me more details and then I will do further research and tests, thanks.

Thank you in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope all the best!

    Sincerely

Kerry Chen | Microsoft Community Moderator
