E-MAIL ACCESS

Question

I am trying to buy anything in the world from anywhere !

I have to add security info to access my email :(

Either an alternative E-mail = I do not have one ! Or can set up one up , due to being asked to enter another email ! FFS

OR

Enter a phone number , I do not own one ! Or want one or will ever buy one ! Especially not just for infomation selling income for any Internet interaction on Earth ! Having multi- millions to spend , but unable too !

& probably unable to see any notifications of this post due to . . . . Etc etc etc

Yes , my e-mail is an Outlook E-mail . I have never forgotten the password as own a password book instead of ever saving any , to any device ;) . The account being locked ? Not sure ? If having to add extra information to access it :/ is considerec being locked ? I have never had to add the extra information to access it , until obviously Microsoft adding this ! I as you say , will HAVE TO make another E-mail to physically get access to my . . . E-mail FFS . The e-mail is not used for long periods of time as not ever needing to E-mail any one . It was only for when physically having to give an E-mail to do anything like a purchase or code sent , to do anything #annoying . I will look into creating another E-mail and hopefully solving to issue , hence not clicking the problem solve , yet . Having not had the issue before in 25+ years it is very frustrating. Having to open an Email account to access an e-mail to physically do anything EVER . Hoping I not needing to open another E-mail to access that E-mail ?

And...

I also have all passwords recorded both on paper and on several computers. A few days ago, I was told by a website (a non-Microsoft site) that I was entering the wrong password. I knew that I was not but had to have a recovery code sent to the alternate email address so that I could create a new password.

That's why you need the alternate/backup address. Things can go wrong.

Don't post your address but your email account is an @outlook.com account?

You can live without a cell phone, but...

It's a real bad idea to not have an alternate email account associated with your outlook.com account.

If you ever forget your password or the account is locked, for whatever reason, you will have no way of recovering the account.

It would also be good if the alternate email account weren't another outlook.com account. Open one at

https://mail.yahoo.com/

or

https://mail.google.com/

and use the account occasionally (once per month maybe) to send and receive mail to keep the account alive.
