After failover - Complete Migration action failing while disabling replication

Hi,

We have successfully completed failover of the VMs from on-premises datacenter to Azure. After 10 days, we initiated "Complete Migration" on the replicated items in Azure Recovery services vault.

This activity took more than 2 hours and has failed. We tried disabling replication also after this which also took 2 hours and then failed with provider error 31337.

We could not find any documentation with this error. Kindly suggest the way to complete the migration of these VMs and clean up its resources on Azure.

Regards,
VJ

@VJ-8370 Thank you for contacting us!

‘Complete Migration’ seems to have timed out due to communication issues with CS.
‘Complete Migration’ task will try to ‘disable replication’ which does the clean up of the replica disks on Azure and updates the On-premises configuration server as well about the disable replication state. This task at communicating to CS probably is timing out.

You should use ‘Remove’ option from the Azure portal to remove the replication item configuration.
For VMware to Azure - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/site-recovery-manage-registration-and-protection#disable-protection-for-a-vmware-vm-or-physical-server-vmware-to-azure which will NOT delete the failed over VM in Azure.

    Hyper-V to Azure - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/site-recovery-manage-registration-and-protection#disable-protection-for-a-hyper-v-virtual-machine-hyper-v-to-azure
