Merge/sync a shared contacts folder with a Shared Contact

Hello,

We recently purchased a business card scanner for one of our users (we'll call her "Jane").

The business card scanner software allows the scanned contact information to be imported into her Outlook contacts.

"Jane" can also create a shared folder in her contacts to which she can import this information directly.

Under "Jane's" contacts she also has a Shared Contact for another user (we'll call him "John") and she has permissions to add and edit his contacts.

The scanning software does not allow "Jane" to import the scanned contacts from the business card to "John's" contacts directly (apparently it is due to Outlook limitations).

"Jane" can grant "John" permissions to the shared folder so he can view and edit the contacts.

This is not what "Jane" wants to do. She wants to add the scanned contacts to "John's" contacts instead of having him access the shared folder to view them.

Is there a way to merge or sync a shared contacts folder created by "Jane" with "John's" contacts?

These are "John's" business card contacts, "Jane" is only assisting with adding the scanned contacts to "John's".

    Hello,

    Thank you for responding.

I did contact the third party software which is where I was told the only way "John" can access the scanned contacts is through a shared folder that "Jane" creates. They said it was due to Outlook limitations.

That is why I wanted to know if there is a work around or a way for the contacts located in "Jane's" shared folder to be merged or synced with "John's" contacts.

As per your mentioned description "The scanning software does not allow "Jane" to import the scanned contacts from the business card to "John's" contacts directly (apparently it is due to Outlook limitations)", please kindly contact to this third party software support provider to check the business card scanner software compatibility related things with Outlook. They can further assist you accordingly from their end.

    Stay safe and healthy.

    Regards,
