Hello, I am running outlook 2016 on a W11 laptop. About a week ago I was asked if I wanted to try a prerelease version of Outlook. A couple days after that, I noticed I cannot log into my 2016 version. I get this error:

You can contact in-app support - Log into Outlook.com on the web using a PC or Mac. If you log in from a mobile device, you need to use the desktop site.

Click the ? icon on the Help tab to open the Help menu.

Type a question. Scroll to the end of the research results and click Yes for Still need help?

Hi, thanks for your offer of help.

I got the same results as the person in the article. When I tried to remove the profile, it would not let me remove it because it is the primary profile. Apparently I cannot remove it.

Does anyone know, is there a stand-alone tool that allows a profile to be edited? When I used the microsoft repair tool it told me my version was not supported.

    Any other ideas?

Hi, Benpella, thanks for trying to help.

These solutions all involve logging into Outlook, which I cannot do.

    Thanks for the effort.

If anyone else knows how I can rebuild my profile without losing all my email, contacts, etc., I would like to know how.

    Thanks again, Benpella,

    Jim

Hi ! This is Benpella . I'm a fellow Outlook.com user and I'm sorry to hear about the issue.

Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service."

You can take a look at this problem and how it got fixed here
