Reply To Address Incorrect

Without the sender knowing how to change the Reply-To address, an email was sent from HR to our CEO, the reply to came up as someone in a different business unit.

There are no rules set and it has only happened once, but to avoid it happening and someone not picking up on it we need to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Any help in preventing this from happening again would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Momo!

I can confirm that the aliases are correct for all accounts involved. This wasn't a change that was made by the user that originally sent the email (HR) as it would be sensitive information so they would not want it to go to the other business area when responded to.

Every email before and after this one from the same user (HR) had no change to their reply to and acted as normal.

    Kind regards,
    James

    Hi James

    Greetings

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

Make sure the correct aliases are set for each user in the admin center, you may refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/email/add-another-email-alias-for-a-user?view=o365-worldwide on how to check for the aliases.

And also double check the emails in the Reply To that were received, it could be that the email was added by mistake.

    Kind Regards,

    Momo
