General Bug in rules import/export?

Anonymous

Hello,

PC 1:
Rules for Pop3 Accounts have "Only on this computer" and it's not possible to remove this. Now you export the rules.

PC 2:
You import the rules. Each rule have "On other computers" now and they not work any longer. It's not possible to change this "on other computers".

What am I doing wrong?

For me this look like a bug or a very special kind of product design...

Peter

    Hi john-wayne-interessierts

    Thanks for your reply.

If you are unable to access your PC1, could you please view this rule in Outlook on the computer where the rule was imported? Then share the screenshot of this rule information with us

We may need to check if the action of these rules contains "on this computer only"

    This was simple rules like:
If mail arrived through account X move it to folder Y.
(I haven't access to the old PC at the moment)

    Hi john-wayne-interessierts

    Thanks for the clarification.

Could you please share the details of the rule on PC 1 (where you exported the rules) and post it here as a screenshot. We will check it for you, of course, please pay attention to block the personal privacy information contained in the rules.

    Keep us posted.

No, I don't know why, but I can't remove this "on this computer only" on PC 1, the computer where I exported the rules.

    Hello john-wayne-interessierts

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

We will try our best to solve your doubts.

According to the /Outlook for Windows/ category you posted, we know your problem is "For other Computer" appears when exporting rules for POP3 accounts in Outlook. Please feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong. I know that sometimes troubleshooting can take a while and the fact that the problem has not been resolved can be frustrating.

We can fully understand how you feel. Firstly, could you please try to check your rules on the original POP3 account. Due to the particularity of POP3 accounts, the rules are stored in a pst file. Please make sure that the all POP3 rules you export belong to the same the same .pst file.

Meanwhile, if the rule has "( for other computers )" after its name, it can be removed by double-clicking the rule and disabling the "On this computer only" action. Click File >> Select Mange rule & Alerts >> Double-click the rule>> Disable the rule action in the red box >> As shown in the screenshot:

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,
