Hey, i'm using the "New Outlook" client and can't find the option to conditionally color my calendar appointments with rules. I know this was possible in old and just wonder if this is missing functionality or if i'm missing seeing it

    Hi,

with "New Outlook i mean having this toggle button set to "New", which obviously changes the entire UI.

So i can't really follow all of the guides but additional Information:
    Office 365 Personal

2 Mail Addresses added (One @hotmail and one @yahoo)

    Version Information:

and to 4) Not sure how to check in this version, i'd guess IMAP

and finally 5) I just wanted to customize them for the first time in this Version, it might just be missing functionality

    Understood, EzioGideon.

If you just flipped the switch for New Outlook and turned it off, does everything work fine for you or does the same issue occur with the calendars?

Also, if you create a new Windows user profile; log out of your current profile; log in to the new profile; launch Outlook; and add your email account, do you still experience the issue you described above? I've included a photo of the steps you need to follow from the link provided.

Feel free to reply to this thread if you need further clarification.

    Sincerely,

    Glenn

    Hello, EzioGideon.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well.

From the description you have provided you would like to use conditional formatting on your calendar events in "new" Outlook for Windows.

This issue may be caused by Outlook settings that need to be changed. Or it may also be a problem with the email account added to Outlook or computer you are using to send and receive emails. So, let's work together as a team to get to the bottom of this. But to better assist you I need to ask:

    1. So, the steps from the guide below do not work for you in "new" Outlook?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-conditional-formatting-to-give-your-calendar-a-visual-refresh-5747189a-370a-4660-92f0-09bff438e4e3

    1. What version of Office are you using? Microsoft 365 Personal? Microsoft 365 Family? Microsoft 365 Business Standard? Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise? Office 2016? Office 2019? Office 2021? I specifically need the Product name and Version number as highlighted in the guide and photo below.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-office-what-version-of-office-am-i-using-932788b8-a3ce-44bf-bb09-e334518b8b19

    1. What email account added to Outlook is this cleandar connected to? You don't have to tell me the actual email address. I just need to know if it's @Outlook.com or @Gmail.com or @Yahoo.com or something else.
    2. What email protocol are you using with the email account you added in Outlook? Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3)? Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP)? Microsoft Exchange? To know which protocol you’re using from Outlook, click the File tab, you’ll get a window similar to the photo below. The item highlighted in red is the protocol which in this case is IMAP.

    1. How long have you had this issue? An exact date of when this issue occurred could prove helpful. If not possible an estimate in days, weeks or months will be fine too.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Respectfully,

    Glenn Rue
