SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Native Client is too old, the oldest SQL server 2008 R2 native client that we can get from MS download link is SP3 . You can get it from here. It seems you are using SQL server 2008 R2 SP1, suggest you applying the latest SP3 for SQL server 2008 R2. Or if possible, please upgrade your SQL server to a newer version of SQL server. SQL server 2008 R2 is out of supported for a long time. Don't let your infrastructure and applications go unprotected.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have put some context around this, but this isn't anything production. It is being used for an extract from an old restored environment.

Yes, it is true that SP1 cannot be found but @CathyJi-MSFT is correct.
If you download the sqlcli.msi package from the SQL Server 2008 r2 sp3 the installation procedure will continue.
At least, thats what the prerequisites installer did in my situation.
And after the installation of the prerequisites packages was completed, i got the below message
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Native Client: equivalent products already installed (no action taken)"
Thanks for the quick response, but that is SP3. I specifically need SP1.
