The emails in my inbox keep disappearing for a few seconds and then reappear. I can't throw anything away - it comes right back

I am experiencing this issue today as well. It is new today. I see a notification about enjoying my empty inbox, yet when I go to the web service for the email (Yahoo) there are several messages in my inbox, and like Kathy Morris who posted this, if I delete a message it reappears after a few seconds (when there are messages appearing in the inbox).

When the inbox appears to be empty, if I wait a minute or two I get the notification sound that indicates there is new mail, but it is just the correct inbox showing up. Then it goes away again the next time the server is contacted to refresh it.

Was there an update applied to Outlook this week?

I do not--and did not--have any filters enabled. I checked before writing this. I have made zero changes to my settings prior to this problem starting.

    Regards,

    Robert

Hi ! This is Benpella . I'm a fellow Outlook.com user and I'm sorry to hear about the issue.

If you're experiencing issues with emails disappearing and reappearing in your Outlook inbox, and you're unable to delete them successfully, here is a steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Check your email filters: Make sure that you don't have any filters set up that could be causing the behavior you're experiencing. Filters can automatically move or delete emails based on specific criteria. To check your filters in Outlook, go to the settings or options menu and look for the "Rules" or "Filters" section. Disable or adjust any filters that might be affecting your inbox.
