Hi-

My professor requires that I send him my work via email within 45 minutes of a desk. I sent it within 15 minutes if that and for whatever reason it didn't send for over 6 hours and I didn't get credit for my work on the test. 1) why did this happen and 2) is there any extra time stamps in outlook to prove when I did anything so I can prove I was on time?

    Dear Amanda L. Sabet,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Based on your description, you sent your work to your professor on time, but the emails are delayed, now you need to find some way to prove that you sent the email on time to get your credit for your work.

    1. Email delay issues might be caused by multiple different reasons, like network problems, mailbox server issues or Outlook app errors.
    2. For this issue, please firstly check the sent time on the email: Open the Sent items folder in your mailbox in Outlook, click on the email you sent, in the up-right corner of the email content, you will see a sent time, please let me know whether the time is that when you send this email. (The time may be different in different scenarios because of different reasons for the delay.)

At the same time, kindly contact the admin of your school tenant (usually IT department) to run a message trace according to: Message trace in the modern EAC in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn, this may find why the emails are delayed and provide more detailed mail flow information.

This is a complex issue and please let me know the information above, I will try to find more useful methods. If there is any update or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,
