Is it possible to store emails for an alias within Outlook using rules with specific categories? I have tried this using the following rule: However, the results are totally confused. Sometimes emails are categorized with the original address (not the alias), sometimes the emails are not categorized at all. The emails that were sent to the alias are definitely not categorized. I was able to determine this in a test. The rule is in the first place and the processing of further rules is stopped.

    Hi JK OI,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Based on your description, you want to store emails for an alias within Outlook using rules with specific categories.

For the rules to move emails sent to a specific email address, we can simply right click a sample email which sent to this alias and navigate to Rule>Always Move Messages To: Alias@..., in the window pops up, choose/new a folder which you want to store these emails. Click OK.

If you used the similar options to create the rule, and still have the issue now, will you please share me some detailed information about your rule (like screenshots). Since it may contain some private information, would you please share me via Private message:

Here are the steps to open private messages:

To view private messaging options> click your profile picture at the top on the right > select the My Profile option. Click View private message.

I look forward to your next update in private message for further analysis.

If there is any update or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Sherry | Microsoft Community Moderator
