Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi hormonal007
Thank you for choosing our Microsoft Community.
Based on your description, don't worry, we can work together to get closer to the answer.
From the Outlook for Windows category you posted, we know your problem is "Error script when replying to emails using Outlook". Please feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong. I know that sometimes troubleshooting can take a while and the fact that the problem has not been resolved can be frustrating.
We very much empathize with your question. Due to the limited information and many reasons for the problem, we may need you to provide more detailed information, such as the following five points. The valuable clues you provide are the key to solving the problem:
- Which email provider does the current email account belong to, for example @Gmail.com/@Outlook.com/@iCloud.com.
- What is the current Outlook version number information, such as Outlook2016/2019/2021/365
- Does the problem when replying to any email only occur with a specific email account, or does it behave like this for all email accounts?
- If it is convenient for you, try to log in to the web page of the mailbox to see if you can reply to the email normally through the web page.
- Has this problem occurred before, or has it only recently appeared?
The reason for this script seems to be relatively rare, if you can't send mail you usually get a Non-delivery-report with some error code. If it is convenient for you, try to use a new configuration file, and manually configure your , and then check whether the mail can be sent normally.
- Click Win + R >> enter control.exe >> find "mail"
- Select "Show Profile" >> select Add >> enter Profile name >>
- In the pop-up interface, select Manual setup or additional server types >> select Next >> select POP or IMAP
- Enter the configuration information of your email account on the interface >> Click "Test Account Settings" after the input is complete >> Click Next after completing the test to complete the email configuration
Note : The password required by some mail providers may not be applicable to your login password, it may be an application authorization code , and some ISP providers require two-factor authentication. The specific situation still needs to be based on the requirements of your mail provider.
