Shared mailboxes connection without ost

hello

can we still connect a shared mailbox by giving full access to a user but not creating the ost ?

we don't want to have the ost cause we are using roaming profile and the disk size we have on pc are limited

How to be sure it will not use cached mode ?

When shared mailbox is using cached mode, if you click on the folder names/emails of the shared mailbox the status bar in outlooks shows connected as shown below:

When shared mailbox is not using cached mode, if you click on the folder names/emails of the shared mailbox the status bar on in outlooks shows online as shown below:

Can we still connect a shared mailbox by giving full access to a user but not creating the ost ?

Yes You can disable the shared mailbox from creating the .ost file. Kindly refer to the steps below:

Step 1. In Outlook, navigate to Account Settings, and double click the account associated with the shared mailbox

Step 2. Click on the more settings button

Step 3. In more settings select the advanced tab

Step 4. Make sure the download shared folders button is unchecked below cached exchange mode. Once done click apply and restart Outlook.

    hello perfect

    i see online and also the option in the account are unchecked even for the current account we dont use the cached mode because of space issue
