Outlook log-in security code

Hello, I started an Outlook account as I was having many problems with another email. But Outlook asks me for a code every time, which is not just annoying, it's impossible, as one of the reasons I'm changing from my old email is that I can't always access it... and the request for a code is going there!! Infuriating. I've googled it and found you should change settings, but duh, I can't get into it to change them. Plus when I've used it I can't find the File menu or Settings.

I can't tell you the Outlook version as the path I googled: Help menu, select About Microsoft Office Outlook doesn't come up with anything. I'm running on Windows 10 64 bit.

Thanks for any help.

    Hello, RedFox21

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Outlook asks me for a code every time, which is not just annoying, it's impossible, as one of the reasons I'm changing from my old email is that I can't always access it... and the request for a code is going there!!

May I know what does the window look like? Would you mind showing it in screenshots? By the way, have you enabled two-step verification with your Microsoft accounts ? If you turn on two-step verification, you’ll get a security code to your email, phone, or authenticator app every time you sign in on a device that isn't trusted.

May I know where did you check the version? Would you mind showing your steps in screenshots?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards
