RESOLVED

I know this is not a Microsoft issue but Yahoo doesn't have a community forum anymore. Has anyone been able to set up their yahoo mail to work through outlook? Yahoo's generate an app password option isn't working & was just wondering if there is a work around.

Yes exactly the same. It looks like yahoo know it is a problem. In one of the many calls I have had with Microsoft they say Yahoo is experiencing a number of issues atm as it tries to integrate other email addresses, they mentioned aol and another who I have not heard of. They have refused to give any idea as to when it would be fixed and have told me to access directly in my browser. I tried to make a formal complaint but they said I need to write an actual letter and post it to the US!

BTW not able to generate the password whin not in incognito mode!

This maybe useful to others. I have been stuck in the middle for a few days but Microsoft telling me Yahoo is having server problems and I am unable to use Outlook. They were not able to generate a password. I eventually spoke to someone in Yahoo (0808 234 5306 from the UK) who appears to have confirmed the generate a new password option is currently not available and not able to tell me when it will be fixed. It is possible I was in a private window as another person has reported so will try to do without this. Ian

Thanks. I figured it out. I always work in "incognito mode", switched to reg mode & yahoo generated a password.

    Hi Michelle5502,

Hello, I’m Brian, and I’m happy to help you today.

You're right, I do see others talking about the app password and having issues last few days. When you enable yahoo's 2-Step Verification, it then requires that app password. You can try disabling but have to ask yourself is it worth the security risk. If it was me, I'd use the https://mail.yahoo.com/ until yahoo finds a fix.

    Thanks,

    Brian
