Outlook Authenticator Problems

We just switched to a secondary sign in for our email. I am using the Microsoft authenticator app. My iPhone, iPad and wed based outlook work fine. How can I get the outlook on my laptop to work without using a web based version. Outlook keeps prompting me for my password. I input the new password and the key from the authenticator and it won't accept either of them. Any thoughts? Does the authenticator not work with outlook?

Greetings.

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

The authenticator does work with outlook.

After installing outlook, when adding your account seeing that you have 2FA enabled, you will be prompt for verification.

On windows, you get outlook as part of your office package. Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac.

If you get any error, please do share a screenshot for further assistance.
