The Outlook In App Team has submitted a bug for this issue and it is currently being investigated.

Much of the original guidance for these kinds of issues is still useful, 32-bit Outlook interface elements unexpectedly render in black, white, or blank - Microsoft Tech Community, and Office apps appear the wrong size or blurry on external monitors (microsoft.com).

Here are things you can check to help mitigate as much as possible.

    Main things to check:

    1. Office is on the latest build
    2. Office is installed as 64Bit (File, Office Account, About, at the very top of the dialog)
    3. Update video drivers to the latest provided by the video card manufacturer
    4. Switch Office into Optimize for compatibility mode. Go to File > Options > General and in the User Interface Options

If you are on Office Subscription and want to get alerted on bug fix status put a machine on Office Insider Beta and submit an In App ticket (Help, Contact Support). This MVP article has some steps in Method 2/3 to also easily switch to Office Insider, Switching between Microsoft 365 Apps for Business/Enterprise, Current, Preview and Beta Channel (Office Insider) without re-installing - MSOutlook.info.

No update as of yet but after further investigation it relates to AMD Ryzen processor builds only.

No reports from any client running INTEL processors.

    Hi Ascomputers,

Thanks for the sharing screenshot. Please provide us with the detailed version of Outlook 365 desktop (such as Current Channel Version 2201 (Build 14827.20198).

Does this issue only happen with Outlook application or any other apps such as Word?

You may try to use the "ClearType Text Tuner" Setting to see if there any improvement.

    1. Search for ClearType.
    2. Windows 10: On the Start Screen, search for ClearType.
    3. Select Adjust ClearType Text.
    4. In the ClearType Text Tuner, enable the Turn on ClearType option, and then click Next.
    5. Tune your monitor by following the steps in the ClearType Text Tuner, and then click Finish.
    6. If you are still experiencing a problem after you adjust the ClearType settings, go to Step 2.

Moreover, you may please use the Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) tool that can diagnose the Outlook problems. Please download the tool and run the Support and Recovery Assistant on the affected computer troubleshoot the issue. See: About the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant
