Mailbox full

I have deleted 90% of my old emails, and I’m still getting the email almost full, or am unable to send emails because it says my mailbox is full. I deleted the emails on my computer, not my cell phone, and made sure the trash was empty. How do I fix this? If I can’t fix it I will leave outlook.

I know this, and have deleted all the folders and emails I no longer need.

Mailbox is emails in all folders, not just the Inbox and trash folders.

I’m sorry I don’t understand what POP protocol means. When I delete on my phone app, they delete on the computer and vise versa. I have roughly 600 email in my hotmail account right now, and am still getting the mailbox almost full emails.

Thanks for your reply, you could refer to this link for what is POP protocol.

What are IMAP and POP? (microsoft.com)

Our suggestion is to go to the web version of Hotmail(now is the Outlook online) and delete the email to see if your email could be deleted from your computer. ^.^

    Hello Tara,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I understand that Mailbox full. I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

I would like to ask you what is the protocol for configuring your email? In general, if you have a POP protocol configured, you could try to delete the web version of the email(e.g. Gmail,Yohoo...), so it should be deleted. If your email protocol is IMAP or Exchange, it should be possible to delete emails on your computer, and emails on the web will also be deleted.

Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance. ^.^

    Best Regard,
