Outlook cannot send emails, always syncing

I changed my laptop last week and transferred all software successfully. However Outlook is a problem, it is taking a very long time to sync folders, more than one hour and I have to shut down the program and re-start it to send emails. I have looked at all the online solutions and tried to fix this issue but to no avail. Can anyone assist? It would be great to have the ability to get a Chat support live. Thanks.

On the sync issues -if you open and close outlook frequently, it can make it worse. Microsoft is investigating an issue where Outlook doesn't close properly when you have an IMAP account in your profile and this can cause Outlook to have sync issues. There is a registry key to use as a workaround. If you don't want to edit the registry, I have a ready-to-use registry file available

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\IMAP

DWORD: AllowLOGOUTWithoutOK

Value: 1

    Hi Diane

Thanks for the reply, I am using Outlook to access my Gmail account.

When I set up the laptop I installed everything via a renewal of my Microsoft 365 subscription. As far as I am aware the Outlook profile and settings were transferred.

I keep getting synchronisation log emails in the Sync Issues folder. This is a bit frustrating as I have to keep closing and re-starting Outlook just to receive and send emails. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Is there I can have a Zoom call with someone to solve this in real-time?

    Regards from Lucas

Hi, I'm Diane and will be happy to help you today.

    Who is your email provider?

When you say "transferred all software successfully", did you reinstall everything and set the accounts up or did you transfer everything, including the Outlook profile and setting?

Are there any sync issues? Look in the Sync issues folder in the Folder navigation pane (Ctrl+6 to open it if the buttons are on the bottom). If your Outlook navigation buttons are in a vertical bar on the left, click the bottom icon in the vertical bar and choose Folder.

Errors will be in red text in the Sync Issues folder.

To switch back to the Mail pane, click the Mail button or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+1.
