I have been receiving Mailbox Full messages using Outlook 365. I have Archived my Inbox, but when I go to Outlook online, the emails are still in the Inbox. Do I have to manually delete them from the Inbox Online, or do I have a Synch issue that I am not recognizing?

Are you using the clean up command (File > Tools) or auto archive feature to archive to a pst? That will remove the message from the mailbox online, but can take some time to sync the changes.

If you use the Archive button the ribbon, that just moves the messages to a new folder

If I have selected the archive folder as being a drive on my local system, it seems the online folder size should be decreasing. Unless the Archive folder is only getting a copy of the emails and the originals are staying online. I am doing my archive in Outlook 365, not Outlook Online.

    Hi rec73,

Hello, I’m Brian, and I’m happy to help you today.

Did you highlight your inbox email and select Archive? If so, this does NOT reduce your mailbox size. It moves them to an Archive folder and is an Outlook default folder.

Here are the steps to archive items manually and which will reduce your mailbox size.

    Thanks,

    Brian
