data export stalling forever

I need my To Do data.

To get it, I have to use the Outlook Export Mail feature.

It has a waiting period of up to 4 days. This is already ridiculous. My data should be available immediately.

But regardless, I have been waiting over 2 weeks for it now. It just won't give me my data. And while I am waiting, the button is of course grayed out and I cannot request it again.

I already contacted a support team by mail, but apparently that was To Do Support and the teams are siloed from one another. They sent me to Outlook Support who do not seem to have direct access.

I need my data.

apologies for this experience. I looked into other users solution but they were also not successful in finding what works. Please process with submitting a feedback so Microsoft is made aware of this difficulty.

thank you for understanding and have a great day!

    alright, thanks.

So, I guess the way to actually reach my goal is to copypaste it manually. I still have my Wunderlist data export from a few years ago. That should be at least 50% of it....

Real shame something as fundamental as my data receives such low priority.

Now you can remove your account from Outlook client and re-configure it or you can create and use a new Outlook profile via Control Panel > Mail > Show profile to stop the progress. You can try again but there is no guarantee of it working since a lot of useres has been complaining about this as well going though the same experience as you are.

Since it is a known issue for other users, you may also provide feedback which is monitored by Microsoft. The more votes a suggestion receives, the more attention is paid to it

There is no way my data is too large.

It is around 400 To Do points. So surely that just a few hundred KBs of data.

The associated mailbox is empty. This account was a migration from Wunderlist and is literally only used for To Do.

I am only using this account as a web app. So there is no version, I would hope it is always up-to-date.

Hello, happy to help you today dear :)

It could be that your data file is too large. this may need more time to export, firstly, please make sure you have enough storage to save the exported PST file, generally, they are some steps help improve performance for Office applications, such as Windows OS performance, updates, add-ins, or incompatible device drivers and so on. Regarding this, please try to check as following:

Please confirm you have installed latest version of Office applications. (Open any application, such as Outlook, go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now)

Check if there is a windows update for your OS.

Please try opening your outlook in safe mode which will help disable add-in. then export or backup email to an Outlook .pst file.

If you still fail to finish exporting, we need to collect more information for further investigation.

Is there any error message if you fail to export? If yes, please share a screenshot of the error message with us when exporting.

Please go to File > Office account to check your Outlook version

Hope this helps! have a great day

    Alyssa
