E-mail Tracking not working:

I do not get a "Message Read" response when I set the tracking flags on when the message goes to a non-Outlook e-mail system. How do I fix that? I do get both the delivery confirmation and the read confirmation when I send the e-mail to another Outlook user.

Can appreciate you marking my response as not addressing your question but can only provide the information to the question asked and clearly showed how it was possible to not receive a "read receipt".

Regarding "Delivery Confirmations" that depends on the recipient server. Like "read receipts", there is nothing you can do to control what happens on the recipient side of things. You can ask for the receipts but there is no guarantee you will receive one as was explicitly described in the Tracking section shown in the provided screenshot.

As for your 3rd question, would be helpful to know what "bit of help" you are referring to and what version of Outlook you are referring to?

So in testing this functionality, I sent e-mails to two recipients, one using Yahoo and one using Spectrum. I got delivery confirmations for both emails, but no read receipts. Neither recipient was asked whether or not to send a read receipt. Is this because their e-mail systems don't recognize read receipt requests, or is there something else I should be doing.

Also, one bit of help indicated the receipt status would be seen on the Message tab, in the Show group, by choosing Tracking. I can't find a Message Tab or Show group in my Outlook -- where do I look for those?

    Hello JonFuhrman

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

Getting a "message read" response is completely at the discretion of the recipient, it is not something that you can control.

Specifically, even for Outlook users, a recipient can set Outlook to never respond (as I have). This done by going to

File --- Options --- Mail --- scroll down to :Tracking: as shown in the attached screenshot
