I have been going around in circles with TMS techs in order to access the Settings icon in TMS in MS Outlook. It is always greyed out and the tech department just can't give me a solution. I am getting untold numbers of scam emails and can't stop them. Can anyone tell my how to activate the Settings icon please so I can adjust the email settings? I'm using Windows 10 on a home desktop and my version of TMS is up to date. Thanks very much. Prue

    Hello Prue Beck1,

    Thank you for you reply.

Try the email filtering in Outlook, it will be helpful for you. If the add-in is not working. Try to get in touch with our Live support they may be able to help you with regards to the add-in itself.

Here's how to contact Microsoft Support:

    1. Click this Contact Us - Microsoft Support.
    2. You'll be prompted to sign in to the personal account that your Microsoft 365 subscription is associated with
    3. Once you've logged in to your account. It will ask you to select a product.
    4. Select Windows.
    5. Then, select "Get Home Service"
    6. You need to report a problem you're having, or you can write there:
    7. At the bottom of the page. Select the "Contact Support" option.
    8. Select Windows
    9. Select Outlook
    10. You'll be prompted to select a support option. It's up to you if you want to change the locale.
    11. Then, select "Chat with a Web Browser Support Agent."
    12. It will automatically direct you to the support team.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you Michael,

TMS is Trend Micro Security. It has an Add-in for MS Outlook.

I am using the Outlook application

    I have Home Office 2021

    My email domain is bigpond.net.au

I am still mystified as to why the Settings icon in the Trend Micro Security Add-in in Outlook is greyed out. I have been going back and forth for days with their tech department but can't get any useful answers from them. They just say to click on the Settings tab and increase the email settings. I can't get it through to them that the Settings icon is greyed out and therefore inaccessible! This has been really frustrating.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Cheers,

    Prue

    Hello Prue Beck1,

Thank you for writing us here in Microsoft Community.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the problem is with you receiving a lot a spam emails. If you are using the Outlook application there is an option to set the level of your junk email system. If TMS is an add-in with outlook you may need really to contact TMS support for it.

I just want to ask a few questions as to narrow down the problem. It is important to answer this to provide more detailed troubleshooting steps.

    1. May I know what is TMS?
    2. Are you using Outlook application or in the Web Browser?
    3. Can you share what type of email domain you are using?
    4. Can you share what type of office subscription you have? Is it Microsoft 365 Personal, Family or Business?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve your solution:

    1. Set the level of your Junk Email filtering system.
    2. Click Home > Deletegroup**> Junk** > Junk E-mail Options.
    3. Choose the level of protection you want.
      • No Automatic Filtering     Although this turns off the automatic Junk Email Filter, messages are still evaluated by using the domain names and email addresses in your Blocked Senders List. **Note:**If you want to turn off the Junk Email Filter, you must also remove names from the Junk Email Filter lists.
      • Low     If you don't receive many junk messages, or want to filter only the messages that are the most obvious junk, select this option.
      • High     If you receive lots of junk messages, but don’t want to restrict messages from senders on your safe lists, select this option. We recommend you occasionally check the Junk E-mail folder to make sure that a message you wanted isn’t moved in error.
      • Safe Lists Only     This is the most restrictive option. Any message that isn't from someone on your Safe Senders List or isn't to a mailing list on your Safe Recipients List, is classified as junk.

Let me know if the issue persists, and we can have other options.

I hope you find this information helpful.
