I'd check the domain controller and problem member both have the static ip address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS

I can ping my server and map a network drive using the IP address of the server but I cannot use the computer name, drive name or folder name to map a drive.

Hello @John Shoemaker ,
Your message leaves a doubt in my mind as to whether your "set-up" is a "business type" network with domain controller(s), etc. or a "home type" network with some resources (file shares, printers) being served on an ad hoc basis.
The response from DSPatrick is a good starting point if you have a "business type" network. If you have a "home type network" then a first step would be to verify the settings on the "Advanced sharing settings" control panel (on all of the Windows computers in the network that will participate in file sharing) - it should look something like this:
The important points are highlighted in yellow.

Hi ,
Are you in a domain environment or workgroup environment?
If you are in a domain environment, try using \FQDN to access the share.
Also run the command of nslookup hostname
and check whether it can be resolved correct IP address successfully.
Best Regards,
Candy
