    Hello Sharif Bouali,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, when you click a link on Outlook, you go to a browser and are then asked to sign in, and then you can view the page. feel free to correct me if I misunderstood.

To appropriately assist you, we need some more details:

What kind of outlook are you using? classic outlook or new outlook?

What version of Outlook are you using? you can find details on What version of Outlook do I have? | Microsoft Support

Are you using Exchange Online, aka Office 365?

Are you using any kind of email security? such as Microsoft Defender for Office 365? Proof Point, Avanan, FortiMail...?

Does this issue happen when you click the link while you are on Outlook on the web?

Do links open in the default browser?

If you are using Microsoft Defender for Office 365, you need to check with your IT administration about Set up Safe Links policies in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 | Microsoft Learn. Policies can be set up to mimic the scenario you are describing.

Your prompt response is essential to provide the right assistance.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

    Thanks for your answer.

I'm using Office 365. The version of Outlook is :

Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16130.20806) 32-bit

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is turned off.

This issue happen when I click on the link on Outlook application installed in mys desktop (not on the web)

No links does not open in my default browser, but a signing page opens in my default browser. It request a sign in with a Google account, but I don't have a google account. If it would request a sign in with a Microsoft account it would be OK, but I prefer no signing at all (link open immediately)

    Thank you

    Hello Sharif Bouali,

Thank you for posting your reply in the Microsoft Community

We can suggest two things to test and let us know how they go.

1- Follow the steps in Web Links from Outlook - Allow users to manage the new feature | Microsoft Learn

I want to open web links from Outlook emails using the default browser set in Windows.  How do I do that?

If you want to turn off the feature, you can do so from Outlook settings:

SelectFile > Options > Advanced > File and browser preferences,

Select the desired browser from the dropdown menu Open hyperlinks from Outlook in.

    2- Change the browser:

If after changing the above steps, the issue persists, can you test changing the default browser to something else, e.i. Edge, Firefox, or Chrome.

Follow the same steps provided above and try opening a link.

We are waiting for your response with these configuration results.

Your cooperation and understanding are highly appreciated

    Best regards,

    Hello Eleni,

    I did not find

I was able to SelectFile > Options > Advanced >

But not the last step, as I did not see the option : File and browser preferences

I could only see a checkbox named « Open supported hyperlinks to Office files in Office desktop apps (this box is not checked)

    Thank you

    Sharif BOUALI
