Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hello Fiona L
Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.
How (POP, IMAP, Exchange) is this account on both computers?
To check, from within Outlook, go to
File -- Account Settings -- Account Settings -- Email tab
From your description, it sounds like this account is configured as an IMAP account on both computers and the contact /calendar data on the other computer is stored in "This Computer Only" folders. Does this sum things up correctly?
Contact /calendar data for IMAP accounts does not sync with the server. Assuming you still have access to the other computer, these folders need to be
#1 - exported to a PST file?
Export or backup email, contacts, and calendar to an Outlook .pst file https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-or-backup-email-contacts-and-calendar-to-an-outlook-pst-file-14252b52-3075-4e9b-be4e-ff9ef1068f91
#2 - The exported PST file needs to be copied to the new computer
#3 - The PST file needs to be added to the Outlook profile and then made the default data file for the Outlook profile. Tjis data should not be imported and will provide additional info for this if the above is applicable
I look forward to your response so we can proceed further.
