Curious.....

Who at Microsoft thinks its ok to have a PC reboot, without warning, to do updates? I'm just curious of the mindset and how these types of decisions are made for default behavior?

No, Im not looking for the way to disable updates (which everyone should do.) I already know how to do that, but when you rebuild as often as I do, you sometimes forget, but regardless... that type of behavior should NEVER be default.

I'm looking for the answer to my specific question above... how are these decisions made?

    @Poster32342
    Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

    I totally understand your concern and we're very sorry for any inconvenience that may caused. It is product design and it's out of my control. The design concept of the Windows is that the customers could install and apply the essential updates as soon as possible. Please review this link to learn more about Windows as a service.

    In addition, we could enable the other policies to delay automatic reboot. Please review this link to apply the Turn off auto-restart for updates during active hours and No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations policies to delay automatic reboot.

    Please keep us in touch if there are any questions of the thread. Hope the above will be helpful. Have a nice day :)

    Regards,
    Rita
