Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Dear vm427
Good day! Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you!
First of all, we regret for the inconvenience caused to your work. Based on your description, I have a general understanding of your question, I did some research and testing on my Outlook client, and I found that when I directly type in this account and then do nothing, and then open another window and come back later, this email does disappear, please see the first screenshot for details. But when I enter the email address, I put the mouse cursor over the email address I entered, and then a box appears, I click on the box, so that the email after the operation is still in the draft box no matter how long it takes, please check the second screenshot:
.
If your situation is different from above, then to help you better, I still need to gather more information to narrow down the scope of the question
- What I understand is that you enter an email address in a message that is not your contact, and you type something in the body, and then you temporarily exit the edit email, but the address in the email is missing when you return, right? If yes then my first question is is is the body of the email still there?
- What did you do after you left this draft email? I mean did you just open a different window or closed the Outlook client?
- If your problem occurs on the outlook client, then please kindly try to log in to OWA (outlook web app) with your account and check if this email still exists in the draft box, if so, please check if the email address you added still exists, thank you.
Please kidnly believe that I will do my best to do more research and testing to help you further when I get the feedback I need.
Please note that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Thank you in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope all the best!
Sincerely
