Outlook 2024 - Synching Issues

Hello all -

I am in need of assistance.

I have Outlook 2024. Tonight, on my laptop, I added a subfolder to the email my wife & I mainly use.

When I went go to my wife's laptop to look at what is in the subfolder I created on my laptop, it is not there.

On the old Outlook, I was able to synchronize so if I created subfolders on my laptop for the same email, it appeared on my wife's laptop.

But with Outlook 2024, it is not synching the same way. I am sure there is a synch setting I am not aware of, but I do not know where it is.

Can someone direct me to where this setting is?

Thanks.

Dave

    Thanks for the info

Just to get some basic terminology out of the way purely for the sake of accuracy

The "new Outlook" is the intended replacement for the Windows 10 / 11 Mail, People, Calendar apps. It is essentially "Outlook on the Web" wrapped in an app framework with the added functionality of being able to add external IMAP Accounts.

In any event, an IMAP account works the same way no matter what email client is used so theoretically

FWIW, I just tried doing this using "new Outlook" and Outlook 365 and thigs worked but admittedly, it didn't happen instantaneously so wonder if this is just a matter of timing because the "new Outlook" works with the data in the cloud which must then sync back to the actual IMAP server

Hello Karl - Thank you very much for your quick response. I will do my best to respond.

#1 - What exactly are you referring to as Outlook '2024?

I am referring to the New Outlook. I apologize for using the wrong name. I thought that was the name. I know I saw the incorrect name somewhere.

#2. When I say "Old Outlook", I am unable to find the exact name, but I did find the following:

    Mail Version 16005.14326.21768.0

#3 What email client are (were) you running on both your and your wife's computer?

On my computer, I was running Old Windows Mail App (from your link of screen shots)

On my wife's computer, it appears her Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office 365 package.

It should be noted that she has the toggle switch for "Try the new Outlook".

#4 If this involves the classic Outlook desktop program (part of Office) - which version?

    Microsoft 365 package.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for your help.

    Dave
