Filing emails in shared mailbox changes the timestamp

Using outlook for Mac Version 16.80. Operating system is up to date.

When I move emails from my main inbox to sub folders within a shared account for our organisation, the timestamp on date sent changes to when I have moved it into the sub folder, not when it was actually sent. For instance, the email may be a few weeks old, but when I move it to a folder, the date is changed to the time of the folder move.

It only seems to happen to sent emails, not received. If you open up the email into a new window when filed it does not show the original timestamp.

It is important that the individuals within this company can file in a shared mailbox and keep the original timestamp as a record.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks for getting back to me.

What do we do about emails that we have already filed and their timestamp is incorrect?

What kind of a timeline are we looking at for a resolve as this is fundamental to our company.

    Thanks

    Dear CP-RMD,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft customer support.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the timestamp changing when you move emails from your main account sent items folder to subfolders within a shared mailbox account.

Please note that, this issue has been reported by Many users and our development team is currently working on a fix. However, currently as a workaround you can use Outlook on the web to move items from your main account sent items folder to shared mailbox folders/subfolders and keep the original timestamp of the email. I have been testing from my end and Outlook on the web isn't affected with this issue and it keep the original timestamp in the shared mailbox folders. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get any additional information about the query and fix timeline.

Your patience, understanding and cooperation are much appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
