Outlook 365 not showing embedded images - Outlook just stopped showing images embedded in the emails. There is no red X just a blank space where the image should be.

I have tried multiple things and nothing seems to work.

    Dear Mikey,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Based on your description, you're experiencing issues with Outlook 365 not showing embedded images. To better understand and investigate your issue, I may need some more detailed information from your side so that I can narrow down the issue in right way and also there are some troubleshooting steps that you can try:

    1. Are you using Microsoft365 business account or personal account (whichis ended with outlook.com or hotmail.com)?
    2. Are you using Outlook desktop client or Outlook web?
    3. If you are using Outlook desktop client, please check if the images are blocked: In Outlook, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Automatic Download. Make sure that the "Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items" option is unchecked.

    1. Check if the email is in plain text format: If the email is in plain text format, images will not be displayed. You can change the format of the email by going to the Format Text tab and selecting HTML or Rich Text.
    2. Check if the sender is trusted: If the sender is not in your trusted senders list, images may be blocked. You can add the sender to your trusted senders list by right-clicking on the email and selecting Junk > Never Block Sender.
    3. If you are using Outlook Web, and issue is only with web version, would you please change another browser and have a try?

Please let me know when you get the information or tried the troubleshooting steps, I would continues to assist you.

There is something in Windows with the profile for that user. If I login to Windows as another user but then login as user 1 into Outlook, the images show up. It is only under User 1 Window's login that the images do not show up in Outlook. Does this make sense?

These Trsut center settings are correct.

the email is HTML. I sent it from Outlook on my PC to Outlook on his PC with just a screen shot and my signature.

the web version (outlook office365.com) will show the images.

    Dear Mikey,

Seeing from your further clarification, the issue happens only when you login as user 1 in Windows profile and Outlook of user1 would have this issue. If you login Windows using another user profile, everything is fine.

In this situation, there mught be some issue with the Windows profile for your user1. Would you please try to remove the user1 from the Windows profile and re-add it, and check whether this can resolve the issue:

As I'm not an expert on Windows, I'd like to share some information from the official article, please take this as reference: Fix a corrupted user profile in Windows - Microsoft Support.

Please let me know after you try this. I will keep assisting on this issue.

Thanks for your time and your understanding would be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
