Outlook mobile app how can I exclude an account from the 'grouped' mailbox

I have a couple of mailboxes, some private, some work. I managed to link the all in the outlook mobile app, but in the 'grouped' mailbox, all mails of all linked mailboxes are visible. Is there a way to exclude (work mailboxes eg.) from the grouped box?

    Hi,

I did not add any mailbox as shared, all mailboxes are separate/standalone.

Non of your suggestions work since it is not a shared mailbox.

I have no ‘group’ option in the settings section

    Hi Kris, this is Bryll

Thank you for taking the time to write us in the Microsoft Community.

According to your post, it sounds like you have multiple mailboxes from different email accounts in Outlook for iOS where you wish for the mailbox of your work account to be separated from the group mailbox.

If our summary is correct, could you explain the process you have taken when you have added all email accounts and their corresponding mailboxes in Outlook? When you added the work email account, did you choose Add Shared mailbox just like what is shown from this link? Add a shared mailbox to Outlook mobile - Microsoft Support

While we wait for your response, here are the tactics that you can try which correspond with the described problem:

    Strategy 1:

    • Open the Outlook app on your iOS device and tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the top left corner.
    • Tap on the groups icon (two people) at the bottom of the menu.
    • Tap on the group that contains the email account mailbox that you want to remove.
    • Tap on the settings icon (gear) at the top right corner of the group screen.
    • Tap on "Manage group members".
    • Find the email account mailbox that you want to remove and swipe left on it.
    • Tap on "Remove" and confirm your action.

    Strategy 2:

    1. Open the Outlook app on your iOS device.
    2. Tap on the "Settings" gear icon in the bottom right corner.
    3. Scroll down and tap on "Mail" under the "Options" section.
    4. Tap on "Focused Inbox."
    5. Toggle off the switch next to the mailbox you want to exclude from the "Focused" or "Grouped" inbox.

    Strategy 3:

    • Open the Outlook app on your iOS device and tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the top left corner.
    • Tap on the gear icon at the bottom left corner to access the settings menu.
    • Tap on the account that you want to remove from the groups mailbox and then tap on "Edit Account".
    • Scroll down to the "Groups" section and tap on it.
    • You will see a list of groups that you are a member of or that you have subscribed to. To remove a group from your groups mailbox, swipe left on the group name and tap on "Delete".
    • You will be asked to confirm your action. Tap on "Delete" again to remove the group from your groups mailbox.
    • Repeat this process for any other groups that you want to remove from your groups mailbox.
    • Tap on "Done" at the top right corner to save your changes and exit the settings menu.

    Strategy 4:

    • Open the Outlook app on your iPhone and tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
    • Tap the gear icon in the bottom left corner to access the settings.
    • Tap the account that you want to remove from the 'grouped' inbox.
    • Toggle off the switch that says 'Include in Grouped Inbox'.
    • Repeat this for any other account that you want to remove from the 'grouped' inbox.
