Outlook Mail

Hello,

I’m trying to set up my email account in the free Outlook email by using my old email address.  It was no problem getting a new email account set up with a new Outlook address and I’ve been able to change the preferred email address to my old address so that I can send my email from Outlook Mail with my old email address.  However, I’m not able to receive email in Outlook Mail with my old address for some reason.  I’ve looked at all the information on what to do and it’s getting confusing.  My old email went through Road Runner as I have Spectrum as my carrier. Do I have to go into some settings to complete the change to receive email in Outlook Mail?  Appreciate any help with this.

Dave

Hi, I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

Is the old address an outlook.com address? Those addresses are only used to sign in. If so, when you send mail though outlook.com using a non-microsoft address, the From address is not routable. You need to use the correct mail server settings with it.

Let me know how it goes, I'm here to help you further if needed.
